A prolific producer, Raffertie’s (real name Benjamin Stefanski) early career experimental electronics were released by influential labels Ninja Tune and Planet Mu. The former released his debut album ‘Sleep Of Reason’ which garnered acclaim from The Wire, VICE, Pitchfork and Drowned In Sound. A classically trained multi-instrumentalist, he graduated from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire informing the foundations of his high-quality production style to this day. In his late teens and early twenties cutting his teeth as a DJ was influential in mutating his classically trained ear with the raw power of ice-cold electronic productions, resulting in him cultivating a distinctive style. Now in high demand for his composition work which has dominated his musical output since, his scores have brought to life the likes of HBO’s I May Destroy You and the “the best and maddest film of the year” (The Evening Standard), The Substance, a no-holds-barred stomach-turning fable for the ages. The body horror’s unrelenting pace amplified by Raffertie’s powerful scores leaves audiences stunned.
