x/o is a Vietnamese-Canadian electronic music producer, vocalist and filmmaker. Interested in disrupting gender binaries through audiovisual storytelling, x/o uses hyper-feminine/masculine tropes and butterfly evolution allegories to build worlds exploring nuance in duality, transgressing codes of identity, and finding mutuality through cyclical emotions. This was never more pervasive than in their 2022 debut album “Chaos Butterfly”, a concept album telling the odyssey of an anti-hero navigating grief and anger to find true strength in inner healing and forgiveness.
